Richard A. Peniston

Richard A. (Rick) Peniston is a University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) Law graduate. He completed his undergraduate studies at Franklin and Marshall College and UNC Charlotte. Rick began the law firm, now known as Peniston Deason, P.A., as a solo general practice. It has grown steadily into the community leader it is today by providing great service to each client.

Rick is dedicated to helping people suffering from auto accident trauma, on the job injuries, and claims arising from injuries caused by negligence of others. Rick has brought thousands of these cases to successful settlements and awards, totaling millions of dollars for his clients.

On the personal side Rick is celebrating 30 years of marriage (Jane) and enjoying his children and grandchildren. Rick is a lifelong cowboy. He has competed in Western riding competitions since age 7, and has won several World and National Championships. He was recently inducted into the Extreme Cowboy Hall of Fame.

The Cowboy Code of Ethics mandates “Ride for the Brand” which means to give your best for the person who hired you. That Cowboy Code of Ethics is Rick’s personal mandate in the representation of his clients.

Zachary P. Deason

Zach completed undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and then obtained his law degree from The University of Miami. He has practiced with this firm since 2006. Zach primarily represents injured workers and social security claimants. He is active with the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and has taken a lead role on its Workers’ Compensation Legislative Committee. Zach was raised in Union County, NC, but now lives in Charlotte with his wife, the best librarian in the world, and his elementary age son. Zach enjoys spending time with his family and the occasional fishing trip.
